What does Lukashenko demand from new Assistant for Vitebsk Region?
Vitebsk Region should be pulled out of the state it is in, although the situation in the region cannot be called a disaster. This was stated by President Alexander Lukashenko when appointing Sergei Levkovich as Assistant to the President of the Republic of Belarus - Inspector for Vitebsk region, BelTA reports.
"I hope that there will be a result from your work. I really hope so. We have to find our place and work in the interests of Vitebsk Region. We need to get Vitebsk Region out of the state it is in. I won't say that it's a disaster. But this region is not the best in the country, while it has a lot of opportunities," emphasized the Belarusian leader.
Alexander Lukashenko noted that Sergei Levkovich knows Vitebsk Region. "The region is not easy, to say the least. You are an agrarian, you know agriculture well, based on your biography. Analyze the path that we have outlined in the development of agriculture. You know that we created so-called integration structures and companies there. I agreed to this option - it is basically a win-win, it does not spoil anything. If we fail to realize it, it will be very easy for the integration structure to scatter. They have nothing to lose. We should try to carry out this project to the end. This is your most important task," the head of state urged.
