Dialogue of business circles: trade turnover between Belarus and Uzbekistan amounted to more than $600 million as of late 2023

By the end of 2023, Belarus and Uzbekistan have crossed the bar of trade turnover of $600 million. But this is far from the limit, as the parties have repeatedly stated, our level should be at least a billion dollars. The interest of business also contributes to this.

On January 23, more than a hundred representatives of business circles came to Minsk. They represent a variety of spheres: from light industry, where the countries already cooperate at a traditionally high level, to industry, where there are still many opportunities.

Zhamshed Urakov, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan:

We want the business circles of Belarus to jointly create enterprises here in Uzbekistan and open a large market for themselves. We have about 60 million people within a radius of 1,000 kilometers. I believe this is a big market for Belarusian producers.

Uzbekistan is also interested in opening its trading house in the Belarusian capital. The site options are still being discussed.
