Eurasian Economic Commission proposes to expand rights of labour migrants from EAEU countries
The experts of the Eurasian Economic Commission believe citizens of the Eurasian Economic Union must have the right to temporary or permanent residence in a EAEU country where the are currently working. Today, the working population of the Eurasian Economic Union faces a lot of inconveniences. Each time they enter or leave a country, they are obliged to receive a special migrant registration. Violation of this requirement can incur a fine or a ban on entry into the country. Migrants cannot fully use social security or credit and financial operations. Because of these problems, many migrants work abroad illegally.
The right to temporary or permanent residence will reduce the flow of illegal labour migration. Workers and members of their families will be protected legally and socially. Also, it will help deal crack down on corruption, and working in the EAEU labour market will become safer.
