From economy to humanitarian projects. Belarus develops cooperation with Volgograd Region

6 enterprises with Belarusian capital are currently operating in the Volgograd Region of Russia.

In addition, our country confidently holds 5th place among external trade partners, of which Volgograd has more than a hundred.

And today we are increasingly discussing the opening of a direct flight - so necessary for both business and tourists.

The trade turnover between Minsk and the Volgograd Region is 20 billion Russian rubles. And this is not enough - this is what the Governor of the Volgograd Region Andrei Bocharov thinks. The potential is huge. We supply machinery, equipment, components.

At the same time, more than five hundred Volgograd companies cooperate with Belarus. For example, in the construction industry, one of such organizations has established the production of gypsum finishing materials, as well as the manufacture of cardboard for various types of packaging. For us, this is not only the development of foreign economic relations, but also the creation of jobs.

There are one and a half thousand kilometers between Minsk and Volgograd. It is not possible to get directly from the capital to this region of Russia. There is a charter, but without tickets: only for business trips.

Andrey Bocharov, Governor of the Volgograd Region of Russia:

"We have held a number of serious events. And wherever we discuss certain issues, we always touch on communications. For our part, we support the creation of a permanent air route. We see what needs Volgograd residents have, and, talking with Belarusians, we see that such a need exists."

Direct air communications have been discussed by governments for a long time. But as for the creation of a joint youth working group, the question is open. And the Russian side is ready to work in this direction.

The first step has already been taken: at the XI Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, which took place this summer in Vitebsk, documents on cooperation between universities were signed. And that's not all. They also agreed on the supply of high-voltage measuring equipment, premixes, rubber crumb coatings for playgrounds and seedlings. After all, in the Russian regions they know that everything Belarusian means high-quality.
