Largest oil storage park in Belarus experiencing second birth
Modernization aims at the world standards of environmental safety. This year, tens of millions of rubles will be allocated to upgrade the main oil pipeline and storage facilities of Gomeltransneft.
The linear production and dispatch station Mozyr is the place where the Belarusian oil flows are combined with the Russian ones. Further the black cocktail flows to the west - to Poland, Germany and to the south - to Ukraine, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
In Belarus, the pipeline runs through 16 districts in two regions, crosses about 10 major water obstacles as well as the Pripyatsky National Park. Such a route requires strict compliance with environmental safety standards.
Large-scale reconstruction started a month ago. Both the oil pipeline and the oil storage tanks will be updated. Some of the storage tanks will be replaced with new ones.
Modernization will increase fire, industrial, and environmental safety: emissions into the atmosphere will be reduced to a minimum. In addition, the storage capacity for Belarusian oil will be much greater, and this is a guarantee of energy security of the country.
