Lukashenko: Bryansk Region is one of the closest provinces of Russia for Belarus
Reaching one billion dollars in trade turnover between Belarus and Bryansk Region is far from being a limit. A statement to this effect was made by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at his meeting with Governor of Russia's Bryansk Region Alexander Bogomaz, BELTA reports.
Alexander Lukashenko emphasized that Bryansk Region is one of the closest regions of Russia for Belarus.
The long-standing historical and human ties between Belarus and Bryansk Region are strong and multifaceted, the President said. "To the fullest extent, all this also applies to our other closest neighbor - Chernigov Region of Ukraine. The spirit of good-neighborliness, friendship and cooperation has always reigned on the border of the three republics," Alexander Lukashenko said, noting that now it is the other way around, unfortunately. And in this situation Belarusians are ready to help in any way possible.
The President emphasized that the economy, of course, is at the heart of solving the current and possible future problems. "In 2020, we set the task to raise our trade turnover to one billion USD. Last year we slightly reduced the pace," the head of state said. According to him, this year the parties are determined to restore the previously achieved figures.
"I don't think anyone needs to be convinced that one billion is far from being the limit. And the main reserve is big cooperative industrial projects," Alexander Lukashenko added.
