Lukashenko about warehouse stocks: We have to go to other countries, we can't sit in one or two markets
It is necessary to enter new markets in the supply of Belarusian products. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said this at a meeting with the leadership of the Council of Ministers, BelTA informs.
During the meeting, Alexander Lukashenko asked about stocks at the factories. According to the President, he is alarmed by the current situation and wants to find out how serious the issue is.
Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko remarked that there is a problem with sales of certain dairy products. There are almost $400 million worth of products in warehouses. According to him, this situation is primarily due to the price factor in foreign markets, as well as increased productivity in the main market - Russia.
"But experts say it is not tragic, the phenomenon is temporary: the price in the Chinese and generally in the Asian market has started to grow. And in general we are working to change our strategy for the development of the dairy and dairy processing industry," said Roman Golovchenko.
The head of state stressed that we should not get hung up on one or two markets, we should go to other countries. "You should not forget that the world is starving. And the last money of any state will be spent to feed people. Recently Deputy Prime Minister Leonid Konstantinovich Zayats came from Zimbabwe, with which we have good relations. How much milk do they consume per capita a year?" - the President asked.
"Eight kilograms," noted Leonid Zayats.
"Eight kilograms per person! And us?" - The head of state asked.
"Three hundred and fifty," hecited the statistics.
"They have nothing to feed their children with. And I promised that we (this is not charity) will help them. My point is: we shall not only wait for our neighbors' prices to go up, it is clear, but we have to go to other markets. We must occupy these markets, and they will be happy to cooperate with us," Alexander Lukashenko is convinced. - We went to Zimbabwe. Other countries offered them something today. They say: "No, we will work primarily with the Belarusians because they have managed to feed our people with bread for one year. They had no bread. Our equipment, technology, pour people went and showed them. For one year they more or less provided themselves with bread. Now they need milk. So, we have dried that milk - load it, take it there.
The President considers that one should not only export milk powder, but also build small plants in other countries to process it and produce other types of dairy products. "We have to go to other markets, we can't sit on one or two markets today," he stressed.
"According to the same scheme, a project to create such a production in China is now in its final stage. This is absolutely the right strategy. The only thing is that the economy does not allow creating such productions everywhere.
