Lukashenko: Russia and China are traditional partners of Belarus, but it is necessary to find ways of cooperation with the EU countries as well
Russia and China are traditional partners of Belarus, but it is necessary to find ways of cooperation with the European Union countries. This was stated by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting on the development of the Belarusian industry, BelTA informs.
“Our main two partners are Russia and China. These are our traditional partners. They are our “anchor”. We have anchored ourselves. And if someone thinks that “we'll leave Russia and China and tomorrow we'll be welcomed with open arms,” it's nonsense. Yes, we are a small export economy. But you have to realize that this is billions of dollars. The competition is serious, and with our goods no one is expecting us anywhere. Therefore, Russia and China, especially Russia, is our traditional market. Economy - there is no escape,” said Alexander Lukashenko.
The head of state noted that Belarus is successfully developing relations with other friendly countries, the contacts with the European Union are not lost. “These are our neighbors - the European Union. We have to find ways of cooperation with them. If they need to buy something and we need to sell it on their market, it is a mutually beneficial interest,” the President pointed out. - No matter how politicians try to erect barriers, if business needs it, it will find ways to get into certain markets.”
