Lukashenko: We will have our own Belarusian quality car

Belarus will have its own domestic quality car. This was stated by President Alexander Lukashenko in a conversation with employees of organizations at the National Airport in Minsk, reports BELTA.

One of the employees of Minsk Civil Aviation Plant asked about the production of Geely cars in Belarus. It was about plans to produce up to 60 thousand cars. "We'll produce them," confirmed the head of state.

The question of the enterprise employee noted the advantages of these cars, well-proven in the domestic market. It justifiably becomes popular, you even have to stand in line for some time to buy it.

"Months standing in line is already a big move. In my time, people stood for years, they couldn't buy it. That's a big plus. But it's bad that you have to stand in line. On the one hand. On the other hand, I am glad that there is demand for this car. In the first few months, there were doubts. But I hoped that people would still buy this car. It's good, it's ours. And with all the shortcomings (I had to often get involved in repair and spare parts issues) we still keep it under control and will promote this car," the President said.

"We have agreed with the Chinese on licensed production of their cars. We have defined, I think, two brands. Therefore, we will have our own Belarusian car. If we have got hold of it, we will reach the point of producing an absolutely our own car."
