Lukashenko: All innovations should stimulate growth of Belarusian economy
All legislative innovations should stimulate the growth of the Belarusian economy. This was stated by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting with the leadership of the Council of Ministers, BelTA reports.
"The government informs that the changes are necessary in order to harmonize the legislation of Belarus and Russia, that is, within the framework of the implementation of the union program. But in the process of unification one should not infringe upon the interests of the state," said Alexander Lukashenko.
In this regard, the President recalled that when it was decided to unify the legislation of the two countries, including in the customs area, there were proposals "to create a single ministry or customs committee". "We expressly refused to do so and agreed at the Supreme State Council (of the Union State - BELTA's note), among other things, that we will create a single group that will make recommendations, see how customs control is carried out and so on, without depriving the state of these powers and functions. This shows that we, Russia and Belarus, are sovereign, independent states. And we should proceed from this when making certain decisions," said Alexander Lukashenko.
"All innovations should stimulate the growth of the Belarusian economy, bring it to a qualitatively new level. This is the most important task for all state institutions, and customs is not an exception," drew attention the head of state.
