Minsk and Tashkent start resetting relations in practice

Minsk and Tashkent have already started resetting relations as previously agreed by the leaders of the two countries at a meeting in Uzbekistan. The official visit and successful negotiations of the Presidents opened a new page of our cooperation, historically, politically, and certainly economically. These days the work of the large-scale exhibition Made in Belarus continues in Tashkent. More than 150 large Belarusian companies take part in it. Today, new agreements were signed. The dialogue between Belarusian and Uzbek partners will continue until Wednesday.

The official visit of the Head of State to Uzbekistan has finished. This means the beginning of active work for most heads of ministries, largest enterprises, businesses. The countries have agreed to develop cooperation in all spheres, to create joint ventures, to open service centers and export products more actively. These are the directions of cooperation for the coming year and the future.

The visit to Uzbekistan has already yielded concrete results. Following the bilateral business forum, more than 80 contracts have been signed. 23 agreements worth 200 million dollars were signed within the framework of the exhibition Made in Belarus.

These are agreements on the supply of our goods and on their joint production. The Baranovichi Cotton Production Association entered the Uzbek cluster of cotton producers. The economic benefit from this project is substantial.

Uzbekistan is on the verge of global change. Today it is a fast-growing market. Economists predict, it will reach $ 20 billion in a couple of years. Belarus should win its share of the market.

The priority spheres are production cooperation in engineering, agribusiness, marketing, transport and pharmaceutical industries. In the near future, partners will develop a roadmap for cooperation.

By the end of the year MTZ plans to reach concrete results. The plant plans to open assembly production of caterpillar and garden machinery in Uzbekistan. The new enterprise will produce about 200 agricultural machines a year. MTZ has experience of such cooperation in this country: assembly production of Belarusian tractors successfully operates in Tashkent.

Next year, the countries are ready to continue the dialogue at the regional level.
