Global social upheavals and political crises predicted for the world, what about Belarus?
Analysts of major corporations have prepared their forecasts of economic and geopolitical threats for 2024. Belarus as a state with an open economy in the center of Europe may also feel the consequences of certain trends. At the same time, while Western politicians are preoccupied with solving problems abroad rather than in their own countries, the Belarusians are clearly following the chosen path.
Belarus is strengthening ties in the Union State, expanding cooperation on the far arc, setting serious goals for the Year of Quality.
There is no money, but you hold on - this is what analysts of major financial institutions mean in their scenarios for 2024. The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development has worsened its annual forecast for the dynamics of the world economy. Preliminarily, its growth will slow down from the previously planned almost 3% to 2.7%. The figure is lower than previously calculated by the IMF.
OECD Secretary General Matthias Kormann explains it as follows: "The world economy continues to face the problems of both low growth and high inflation."
In contrast, the IMF has revised the scenario for Belarus into a positive one: the IMF experts expect the growth of our economy at the level of 1.3%. This is lower than approved by the decree of the President of Belarus, but we should not have expected anything else from the IMF experts. We have set a different target for ourselves.
