Entrepreneurs of the year awarded in Minsk

The winners of the National competition "Entrepreneur of the Year" were awarded in Minsk the day before. The list of the best includes 35 people. They represent a variety of directions: from the beauty industry to the manufacturing sector.

The private sector of the economy makes a solid contribution to the development of the country. Last year, small and medium-sized businesses accounted for a quarter of Belarus' GDP, a fifth of industrial production, 40 percent of exports of goods and more than half of exports of services. Support from the state also contributes to this.

This year's the contest received more than 4,400 applications. The winners were selected in five nominations.
