Belarusian flax industry can become twice as efficient in a few years

The President of Belarus said this today while visiting the Orsha Flax Factory. Alexander Lukashenko got acquainted in detail with the production and products, walked through the shops and talked to the employees of the enterprise. The Head of State expressed a share of criticism of the leadership of the agro-industrial complex and the governors: the volumes of domestic raw materials, and often their quality, are insufficient. About a third of the capacity remains unused at the modernized Orsha Flax Factory, and part of the fiber has to be purchased abroad. This immediately affects the price of products and the effective work of the enterprise. The Head of State requires a greater return from the industry. In the near future all efforts should be concentrated on the development of deep processing.

At the moment the future of the industry is discussed at a meeting with the President.
