Fair prices and control! Lukashenko outlines clear tasks in system

From January 1, there should be a clear, understandable system of price regulation in Belarus. This task has been set by the President of Belarus to the government and specialized agencies today. The main thing is fair prices and avoiding shortages of goods.

A decision to introduce strict administrative methods was taken by the President in October, 2022 - it was necessary to stop the inflation. Then the relevant agencies developed a mechanism for forming the cost of goods. Foodstuffs and everyday products came under scrutiny in the first place. The President reminded that it was not a question of freezing or restraining prices. The question is about fair regulation. As a result, with the target inflation of no more than 7-8 percent this year, the increase in the consumer price index is forecasted at about 5.5 percent. At the same time, the real wages of Belarusians increased by 10%. Retail trade is among the most dynamic factors. In other words, the scheme is working!

"I want you to understand that there will be no retreat either to the left or to the right from this problem. This is a moral, political, strategic issue. Whatever you want to call it. But the main thing is the issue of fairness," emphasized the Belarusian leader.
