MTZ trade and service center opens in Astrakhan

650 thousand tons of Belarusian cargo next year with the prospect of growth. These are the volumes of cargo traffic that will go through the ports of Astrakhan next year.

The agreements were reached during the visit of our governmental delegation to the Russian region. Today, the conditions and opportunities of the transit infrastructure were examined at the seaport and the Armada company. They discussed the establishment of convenient connections between the railroad transportations and ships, as well as the creation of a solid "river-sea" knot.

Belarus and Russia are gradually increasing the freight traffic. This is important in conditions of transit freeze in the Baltic direction. So, 90 thousand tons of our cargoes have passed through the ports of Astrakhan this year alone.

Today, a trade and service center of MTZ has opened in Astrakhan. They plan to sell from 200 to 300 tractors a year. They are sure that the demand will be high. The total sum of the contracts on all aspects, from machinery to fodder and seeds, was about 25 million dollars.

The Belarusian delegation headed by the Prime Minister left the Russian region for Astana. A meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government will open there tomorrow.
