October Economic Forum opens in Minsk

Another tradition in the autumn days is an open dialogue about the global economy and world trade. October Economic Forum started in Minsk. The participants include business community, representatives of government bodies and world experts, who noted the conditions created in Belarus for effective work of the economy: this is the stability of the tax system, the separation of the functions of the owner and the regulator, and the optimization of the system of government. At the same time, task number one for each enterprise is integration into global trade. And here it is important to take into account all the advantages, as well as risks.

This is especially important today, when trade conflicts between the US and China and their main partners may ultimately affect global trade, like the 2008 financial crisis. This was said by representatives of the World Bank noting that Belarus with an open economy needs to maintain economic stability and stimulate exports.

This year Belarus shows a good pace of economic development. We reached the peak of our foreign trade 5 years ago in 2012. After four years, we fell. And only at the end of 2016, thanks to the global economic recovery, we began to grow.

New horizons for large sales are opened by the WTO market. Today we are in the process of negotiating accession. The forum also announced a possible date - 2020.
