500 cars on Belarusian-Polish border - Belarusian border guards point to increase in the queue
Belarusian border guards point to an increase in the car queue on the border with Poland. More than 0.5 thousand cars and almost 300 trucks are waiting to enter.
A large accumulation of cars is recorded in front of the Polish checkpoint "Terespol" (on our side, the border crossing "Brest"). Over the course of a day, the control services of the neighboring country processed only 37% of the transport. As for trucks, according to the latest information, almost 850 trucks are forced to stand idle on the border with three neighboring European countries. For example, due to the slowness of Polish employees, the queue grew in a day at the border crossing "Kozlovichi".
Evgeny Koreyvo, Deputy Head of the Varshavsky Most Border Control Department:
"Before the start of the big weekend, an increase in the number of vehicles waiting to leave the country was recorded in front of the Brest checkpoint in Belarus. The maximum number of passenger cars reached 1,700, buses - about 100. Despite the fact that the Polish border guards were informed, the adjacent side continued to let through no more than 35% of the established norm."
He also noted that the queue now consists of 500 units of passenger transport.
Less than a third of the trucks from the norm passed through Lithuania's Medininkai (on our side it is Kamenny Log) to the EU. About half of the heavy trucks passed through Šalčininkai (Benakoni) to Lithuania.
More than 400 trucks are still waiting to enter Latvia. The control services of the Latvian border crossing "Peternieki" (on the Belarusian side - "Grigorovshchina") processed only a quarter of the cars.
