Belarus actively works on creation of Strategy for Active Longevity
Belarus shared its experience in New York in the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
The thematic Summit was held there for the first time, bringing together representatives from more than 70 countries. Belarus was represented by vice-speaker of the upper house of parliament Marianna Schetkina. The 17 tasks identified by the UN should be resolved by 2030. Particular attention is paid to people older than working age.
Every fifth Belarusian is an aged person. About 54% of them are women. Belarus is actively working on the creation of the Strategy for Active Longevity, it will become the basis for the socio-economic policy of the country.
Much attention is paid to maintaining the activity of people over working age in Belarus. So, on the basis of the Hospital for the Disabled of the Great Patriotic War the Center for Active Longevity was created.
