Belarusian Red Cross Society celebrates 100th anniversary
The Belarusian Red Cross Society celebrates its 100th anniversary today. More than a million people are members of the largest humanitarian organization of our country.
The Gomel Region has joined the congratulations. A large-scale flash mob was held on the embankment of the Sozh river. About 500 people lined up in the shape of the symbol of the organization, the Red Cross. That was the way the activists and volunteers expressed their support for the main principles of the society - humanity, voluntariness and unity.
Of course, it is very hard work. We take care of pensioners and lonely people. We help them. We take care of the disabled. It is very difficult. But I work according to the following principle: if you want to feel as a human being you have to help somebody else.
The Red Cross has over 200 thousand members and over 2 thousand volunteers in Gomel Region.
