The Belarusians have formed an image of themselves as a people entitled to play an important role in international processes, being the owner of their land. This was stated by the Dean of the Faculty of Journalism of Belarusian State University, PhD in History, Associate Professor Alexei Belyaev.
Belarus is a very interesting and unique place in terms of tradition, says the historian. "Belarus is a borderland between two major civilizations. Alexey Belyaev pointed out that the interview is recorded in the Troitsky suburb, which can be cited as an example: "We can say that we are in Minsk, or we can fantasize that we are now somewhere in the Czech Republic, in Vilnius, or in some quiet German town."
The variety of cultural codes that exist within the Belarusians allows us today to take the best from both the East and the West, Alexey Belyaev believes. "One of the Belarusians' codes is an absolute tolerance and tolerance for representatives of other nations.
