Buzin: Nuclear weapons are a guarantee that Belarus will not be left alone with its stupid neighbors and the EU

Nikolai Buzin, doctor of military sciences, professor, assistant to the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, told about nuclear weapons as an element of independence in the current conditions.

Today national security requires those types of weapons that can provide it, says the expert. "There is such a concept - the theory of deterrence and the theory of strategic deterrence. The elements of the theory of non-nuclear strategic deterrence have been recently developed. But nuclear deterrence will not go away. It has kept peace on Earth for decades. The only two case of using the nuclear weapons were made by the United States on August 6 and 9, 1945. They were the first and only use of nuclear weapons for military purposes," he recalled. - After that, it was the parity in nuclear weapons that made it possible not to destroy the world and to keep states within the boundaries that they are. It's an element of strategic deterrence, it's an element of national security. And there is no need to think of anything else on this topic. This is a theory proven in practice, tested by decades of operation and interstate relations."
