2023 budget to remain socially oriented
The 2023 budget has been adopted. The so-called zero reading is taking place in the parliament now. The result of the long calculations is presented by the Prime Minister. This is a traditional format of discussing the major financial documents. It precedes the vote for the budget in the Oval Office of Parliament.
Next year's budget has a deficit: its expenditures will exceed its revenues by three billion rubles.
This is the fourth year in a row that the budget has been drawn up with a deficit. This does not create risks for the economy; the government always calculates sources to cover the deficit without harming the social sector. In general, the budget preserves its social aspect. Expenditures on health care, education, and social security will grow. More money is expected to be allocated for pensions.
