Chirkov: Belarus and UAE develop mutually beneficial cooperation
A favorable factor for the development of trade cooperation is the complementarity of the economies of Belarus and the Emirates. This opinion was shared by Russian political analyst Maxim Chirkov with our TV channel.
Maxim Chirkov, Associate Professor of the Economics Department of Moscow State University, political scientist (Russia):
I would say that interaction between the Arab Emirates and Belarus is most beneficial in those areas where one country will easily cover the needs of the other, in particular the notorious green technology, maybe food production. Certainly, Belarus can help the United Arab Emirates a lot here, where the majority of such agricultural products are imported. And Belarus, as everyone knows, is one of the leading producers of agricultural products and, of course, Belarus can be very useful for the United Arab Emirates here. I mean, food supplies, it seems to me, could serve as a basis for such constructive cooperation between Belarus and the United Arab Emirates. The IT sphere is an access for Belarusian companies to the world markets via the Emirates, it is an opportunity for the Emirates, respectively, to borrow technologies, maybe to use Belarusian human resources in their IT programs. Again, I think that the Emirates would be very interested in cooperation with Belarusian industrial enterprises, for example, because the Arab Emirates is an economy with the energy sector oriented to hydrocarbon production, diversified industry - that's probably what any state, especially a rapidly developing one like the United Arab Emirates, would want.
