Cruel bullying of little Belarusians in Poland - Revelations of parents - "Katyusha's Rationale" pr
Is it any wonder that Polish schoolchildren also project cruelty onto their foreign classmates? Belarusian children, whose parents took them to Polish emigration, are now being bullied in educational institutions by their classmates.
Intolerance towards newcomers, apparently, is already reaching a boiling point. Neither parents, nor teachers, nor the police react to the cruelty of little Poles. Bullying occurs on a national basis.
Here it is, the European paradise and the changes that Belarusians rushed for, but Belarusian children suffer, they were and will remain for the Poles the offsprings of visiting guest workers. More details in the section by Ekaterina Tikhomirova.
Children are a reflection of society. And in this Polish society, there is great dissatisfaction with the fact that there are many newcomers from Eastern Europe in Poland. More Ukrainians, but also dissatisfied with the presence of Belarusians, by the way, those whom the Duda and Morawiecki government so zealously brought in in 2020. The number of incidents involving beaten and even killed Belarusians is increasing.
The kitchen is also a small area. And conversations in the kitchen can be different. Rising prices in the country, inflation. Someone has to be guilty. And then the little Pole from the kitchen goes to school and retransmits the mood of his parents to the foreign children.
Good afternoon. My name is Yana. I'm from Warsaw, - says a woman in a telegram chat. - My son is 12 years old. Three years ago, we arrived in Warsaw and immediately went to the 25th school, where at first little by little, then the most terrible bullying began. Not only was the child beaten, but he was also seized in different corners and dunked in the toilet. When I came to school, I was assured by the teacher and the school principal that we are solving this problem, don't worry, everything will be resolved. In fact, they did nothing, and the bullying got worse and worse. It got to the point where the child not only didn't want to go to school, but he also started having a tantrum, knowing that today he would definitely be bullied. He was bullied every single day.
Polish statistics are ruthless. Every tenth child in the country is bullied. For a long time. Day after day.
Lublin was shaken by tragedy. A 16-year-old girl, Yulia, committed suicide. She was bullied online by classmates, beaten. Even despite the support of the family, the fragile psyche could not withstand.
Now Polish parents are demanding that the Sejm change education legislation: tighten laws on violence and bullying on the Internet, and introduce empathy lessons in schools, because children transmit cruelty. However, bullying or harassment in Polish schools often occurs precisely on the basis of nationality.
First Poznan, then Warsaw, son, 14 years old, - a parent tells in a Telegram chat about the bullying of foreign children in Polish schools. - It all started with just being harassed for being Belarusian and coming here. For a long time, they just called names and mocked. Ultimately, it all came down to the first fight - a brow was broken. For a long time, I tried to make something. Ultimately, we finished studies and changed the school. We moved to Warsaw. It all started with a conversation in the toilet with classmates. The result is a torn backpack, a torn shirt, a bruise on the arm. Again tears and so on...
We have everything worked out in Kotovice. Son. At first, they just called names, didn't want to communicate, and didn't accept him at all, writes Alexander. Then, it seemed like he made a couple of acquaintances. But then suddenly - the child comes home, and he has blood gushing from his nose, we go to the doctors. Fracture. He told that three Poles just beat him up and shouted something about Belarus. I'm shocked, is it just the 90s starting in Poland?
Warsaw. Two boys. For a long time, we only communicated with one boy in the class. Polish 50 to 50. And I felt that something was not being told. The mood was not right, there's no enthusiasm to go to school. In the end, it turned out that a few stronger guys from the class, Poles, met mines near the toilet and said that no one would talk or be friends with you until you learn Polish, and called them "miserable Belarusians." The guys walked like this for almost 3 months, and then I found out everything," wrote Erica.
Poznan. Daughter, 12 years old. Every day she cries bitterly in her room. My wife and I started to figure it out, the Poles simply don't let her into the class, like Belarusians should study in Belarus or sit here in the corridor near the class," Oleg described the situation.
We found you just in time. We tried in many groups to reach out to knowledgeable people, but either there is no response, or the group administration simply blocks for unclear reasons. Faced with these bullying too, - another parent shares their problem. - Maybe someone will be interested. Son 11 years old. Bialystok. At first, everything seemed fine, but I didn't really talk to anyone (I thought it was the language barrier). He comes home every day without mood. Then he started unpacking the backpack himself and hiding it. I smelled a strong odor of urine and took the backpack. After long conversations, the child confessed that three Polish classmates held him, and two just "urinated" in his backpack and on everything that was in it. The son is afraid to go to school because those guys said that next time they will pee right on him. Complete horror. Therefore, the topic is very relevant.
This is a chat for migrant parents. Their children are subjected to daily cruel bullying by Polish peers just because they are Belarusians. Words alone do not suffice. Parents record damage to things, beatings, bruises, and abrasions.
This teenager from Ukraine was beaten to a hospital bed.
On September 18, my son was beaten in the corridor of the technical school, resulting in a broken bone under his left eye, naturally, bruises, swelling, and his eye won't open. The technical school did not call either the ambulance or the police. They called me and offered to pick up the beaten child," complained the parent.
Polish teachers and police are indifferent to the situation. Children are strangers, children are foreigners. And the students are clearly divided into ours and yours, locals and visiting guest workers.
Teachers listen to Polish children, not ours. "Our children are to blame for everything and everywhere," writes another participant in the migrant parents' chat.
Poznań, Warsaw, Gdańsk. We tried it everywhere. I have a daughter and a son, 11 and 14 years old, who cry at night. For the third day, I can't figure out what and how. The neighbor said she saw older boys Poles in the schoolyard harassing my daughter and trying to "lift her skirt." Well though she is 11, she looks 15-16 (well, that's how it turned out)! I'm very worried about her being raped, no matter how hard it sounds. The son has it easier - he came with bruises on his hands. He says he fell while playing football, but I can see that someone just held and pressed his arms hard. The most interesting thing: on my son's bag, they wrote with paint: "go back to your country, potato." Well, something like that.
Poznan. Son 10 years old. We moved last summer. From the first day, there were insults. Then sometimes it almost came to fights. The son is one of those people who won't let himself be offended. Therefore, Polish children just kept bothering him non-stop. Comments from me and my husband were not even taken seriously. The son ended up in the same class as one of the bullies. The boy was turning the whole class against my son. All year there were name-calling, sometimes scuffles. The son became very nervous and aggressive. We worked with psychologists. All the psychologists praised him for being a kind, smart boy. And this is his kind of defense in the form of aggression. The school was trying to help, but the situation remains the same. The most complete trash was that the main bully started accusing our child, and his mother threatened with lawsuits," shares another parent.
Hello. My name is Inga. We are from Belarus, now in Katowice. I was very pleased when I saw that there are still people who decided to do this, to protect children from this bullying. My son is 12, I'll just list the injuries: deviated septum, stitched eyebrow, a tooth knocked out, another mother shared her story. I think it's not really worth listing them all. But every time they beat him, they wished for their son to return to Belarus as soon as possible. As he was told: Either leave, or it will hurt more each time. The school, of course, was changed, but still, the very fact.
We went to the police, their officers were at the school. It all came down to the fact that our child is to blame. The boys who allegedly beat him were somehow punished. But how no one could really explain, not even the police," laments the parent.
As a result, we have to change schools: Warsaw, Katowice, Gdansk, Bialystok. One, another Faces change, the problem remains. One set of bullies is replaced by another. The attitude towards Belarusians is like towards the rightless. The Poles speak and look with superiority and dislike. What is frankly... expected. In Belarus, Belarusians have rights, but in Poland, they are second-class citizens. And here, for everyone who fled (sometimes with children) and wanted change, the harsh reality of democracy and the cruel bullying of small Belarusians who had not made any decisions.
