Deputies of House of Representatives adopt several bills in first reading today

The period for disability determination will be increased by one year for all groups in Belarus. The changes will extend habilitation and rehabilitation programs. The innovations include the creation of special support centers and the provision of personal assistant services to disabled people. Education was also discussed. Quotas have been introduced for the employment of the disabled people. According to the amendments in another draft law, it will become easier to obtain Belarusian citizenship. The period of continuous residence in the country for foreigners will be reduced to 5 years. The number of people who can apply for preferential citizenship will be expanded. The changes also concern the law on individual registration in the state social insurance system. It is planned to supplement the personal accounts with the expanded information about work. This data will create the basis for switching to an electronic work record.
