Measures to prevent accidents when moving around with personal mobility devices being taken in Minsk
In Minsk, measures are being taken to prevent road accidents. The State Traffic Inspectorate of the capital strengthens control at hazardous crossings. Road police officers pay high attention to pedestrians, cyclists, as well as users of electric scooters, gyro scooters and other means of personal mobility. According to the new rules, everything, except for bicycles belong to the category of pedestrians. The traffic police remind that cyclists must move along the cycle path, and in its absence along the sidewalk. It is also allowed to move along the carriageway no further than a meter from its right edge.
Since the beginning of the year, there have been more than 130 pedestrian accident with 8 lethal outcomes. 30 cyclists were injured during this period.
