Updating land legislation in Belarus addressed by President at government session

Today, adjustments to the land legislation are at the center of attention of the Head of State. Innovations initiated by the government are reflected in the draft Decree that Alexander Lukashenko has personally reviewed twice.

Some of the proposed innovations are radical and controversial. That is why the President initiated their discussion in such a wide composition: from governors to the government. For example, it is proposed to allow the allocation of plots of land up to one hectare for the construction of private houses. It will also be possible to expand the opportunities to legalize unauthorized plots and change the purpose of the plot until the construction is completed.
