Lukashenko: We need to strengthen the work on information counteraction
Belarus sees the real purpose of the exercises carried out by the NATO bloc. This was stated today by Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting in the Ministry of Defence on military security issues. Country pays particular attention to the security. The main requirement of the commander in chief is to see and objectively evaluate the situation in Belarus and beyond its borders from a military standpoint. The events on the outer contour show that a course has been taken to aggravate relations with Russia and Belarus.
Under the cover of defensive issues increasing military presence near Belarusian borders, including large-scale exercises. The President stressed that, in fact, the issues of on the redeployment of troops, the development and use of groupings are being worked out.
Alexander Lukashenko, the President of the Republic of Belarus
We can see the real purpose of the NATO exercises. In fact, this is reconnaissance and development of a possible future theater of military operations. According to the U.S. plan, Europe and NATO have entered into a global confrontation with Russia. In this struggle, Belarus is to face unprecedented and prolonged economic, political and even military pressure.
Lukashenko: We need to strengthen the work on information counteraction.
According to Alexander Lukashenko, military pressure will come via Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and the NATO troops deployed there, and also through the escalation of combat actions in Ukraine.
The head of state stressed that the current situation requires the troops to be ready to give an adequate response to military steps against Belarus.
Thus, according to the President, it is necessary to determine the main areas of further development of our army. On the assumptions that the level of military threats to Belarus may increase, measures must be taken as soon as possible.
Alexander Lukashenko, the President of the Republic of Belarus
We need to strengthen the work on information counteraction because war today is complex. This is an economic war, an information war, and a hot war. These are hybrid wars. Therefore, we need to step up work across all areas, no matter how difficult it may be. It is universally accepted that it is difficult to fight against the countries, which not only have military might but a large population, too. However, this factor does not determine the outcome of military actions as strongly as it did in the past. We have to fight by ability, not by numbers as our prominent military leader once said. It is becoming seriously topical now. It means that even such a small country like Belarus is quite capable of resisting the major countries. But I stress once again that a hot war is something we know how to do and we will do it if we have to, god forbid. Information confrontation, which precedes a hot war and accompanies any military confrontation, is very important.
The main direction of development of the Belarusian army will be special operations forces
Lukashenko: We need to strengthen the work on information counteraction.
Belarus has learned lessons in terms of developing and equipping its troops, the Minister of Defense informed. This work will be carried out in several directions. The main will be the development of special operations forces. Reconnaissance aviation flights are carried out near the Belarusian borders. A large number of them are recorded daily - and it`s disturbing.
The armed forces of Belarus are, first of all, a tool to prevent the war.
