Lukashenko: Only together we can be free and independent
The new Nazis would do well to review the newsreel footage. The Belarusian leader said so on the Mound of Glory. Since early morning, people have been carrying flowers to this place of strength of the Belarusians, where the "Minsk Cauldron" was closed and a historic battle with the largest defeat of the German troops took place, paying tribute to those who liberated Belarus from fascism. It's a majestic monument erected to honor the heroes!
Veterans, patriots, young people with active citizenship, and participants of the "Memory Train" from Belarus and Russia, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan gathered at the monument. In his speech, the Belarusian leader recalled the feat accomplished in this land. The fighters did not divide themselves by nationality. They didn't divide the land into their own and someone else's! They fought for one Fatherland!
"About 400,000 soldiers, officers, generals of the Wehrmacht and SS were killed and taken prisoners. They were shown to the world. They were marched disgracefully through Red Square, immediately washing off the traces of German boots with water. It would not do any harm for the new Nazis to review these newsreel footage. They want to forget, but you and I must not allow it. No one should forget it. We must not forget it so it won't happen again," said Alexander Lukashenko.
