Minsk to host meeting of Union State High-Level Group - dozens of issues on agenda
September 27, Minsk will host a meeting of the Union State High-Level Group in Minsk. The agenda includes dozens of issues that affect bilateral cooperation between Belarus and Russia.
A meeting of the High-Level Group of the Union State opens in Minsk. This format, by the way, is not new. The previous meeting of the group was held this summer in Smolensk.
It should be said that the format has been in place since 2012, and the group is to help the Council of Ministers of the Union State. The most pressing issues of cooperation between Belarus and Russia are considered. The agenda includes at least two dozen issues from different spheres: transportation, health care, information technology.
Today they will talk about rail transportation between the cities of Belarus and Russia, it concerns passenger and cargo transportation. Given the fact that we have a common economic space, a common market, the issue of consumer protection will be raised.
We will also talk about the preparation of meetings that are expected in the near future - the Union Council of Ministers and the Supreme State Council. They will discuss topics to be considered at the level of prime ministers of the Union State, as well as heads of state.
The Belarusian side will be represented by Co-Chair of the High Level Group - Head of the Presidential Administration Dmitry Krutoy, while the Russian side will be represented by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian government Alexei Overchuk and State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev.
