Defense capability and prevention of destabilization: what other tasks the Security Council of Belarus is facing now?
January 26, 2021, Alexander Grigorievich Volfovich was appointed State Secretary of the Security Council.
During this period, the main attention was paid to ensuring the defense capability of Belarus, coordination of actions of state bodies to prevent destabilization of the situation in the country. The past Belarusian-Russian exercise "Zapad-2021" was an important stage in strengthening regional security and creating conditions for the safe development of the Union State. Under the leadership of the State Secretary of the Security Council, a number of surprise inspections of combat readiness of military units of the armed forces were conducted, as well as testing of the system of response to acts of terrorism.
In 2023, the 11th Independent Guards Mechanized Brigade of the Western Operational Command was mobilized in full strength for the first time. A domestic information and analytical system for monitoring the Internet was developed and put into operation to improve the efficiency of the work of law enforcement agencies.
Cooperation within the CSTO, CIS, SCO and BRICS has also been actively strengthened. With the active participation of the State Secretariat of the Security Council, the Concept of the National Biological Security System was developed. A completely new law for Belarus was adopted.
