Founder of ensemble "Khoroshki" Valentina Gayeva turns 85
The jubilee is being celebrated today by the choreographer, artistic director and founder of "Khoroshki" ensemble Valentina Gayeva. President Alexander Lukashenko congratulated the People's Artiste of Belarus on her jubilee. A native of Russia with Belarusian roots came to her small homeland in 1967. She worked in Mogilev group "Vesnyanka" at the Kirov automobile plant. A few years later, after winning a ballet master competition, she was invited to the Belarusian State Philharmonic. There Valentina Gayeva set out to create a Belarusian national dance group.
First members of "Khoroshki" did not even have a casting, those dancers who were not taken after school to professional choreographic groups went to the group. And years later, Valentina Gayeva and her performers were applauded by almost all continents. Her performances are like a journey through time eras and national history in dance. Belarus 3 has prepared special editions of her projects on the occasion of the birthday of the People's Artiste. The program includes an anniversary concert of the "Khoroshki" ensemble on July 25.
