Remains of Lieutenant Nikolai Ivlev who died in summer of 1942 transferred to relatives

Today the remains of Lieutenant Nikolai Ivlev, who died in the summer of 1942, were transferred to his relatives from the Vitebsk region. All this time he was considered missing. In 2017, a search operation Watch of Memory was conducted in the Ulyanovsk region of the Kaluga region. In 1941-1943 there was a line of defense. In one of the trenches a medallion was found. After a complicated examination it was possible to recover the text and find its owner.

Relatives of Lieutenant Nikolai Ivlev were given his personal belongings, the officer's shoulder patches and a compass. Tomorrow the remains of the hero will be buried in the village Ezerische, Vitebsk region, next to the grave of his wife.
