Poland speculates on safety of BelNPP, while planning itself to build nuclear power plant for American money

The Republic of Belarus is in the elite club of nuclear powers. When there is an energy crisis in the world, rising oil and gas prices, our country strengthens its independence and energy security. We have launched our own nuclear power plant. But the attitude of neighboring countries to the Belarusian nuclear energy became political.

When Belarus started to build BelNPP, they economically counted on the fact that neighboring countries would buy electricity, recalled Irina Novikova, head of the Department of Management, Business Technologies and Sustainable Development of the Belarusian State Technological University. "I can tell you that the north of Poland is very much in need of electricity. I was even before all these sanctions and other events in Bialystok and saw how people live according to the biological rhythm. Since electricity is expensive in the northern Polish regions, they get up when the sun rises and go to bed when the sun goes down.

They are now raising the issue that our plant is allegedly causing environmental damage. In fact, Poland has signed an agreement with the United States on their credit. And they will build it in this northern part in 2034.
