When will Minsk fully switch to artesian water?
Minsk will completely switch to water supply from underground sources from 2025. The implementation of the large-scale project was discussed on February 20 at a field meeting headed by Chairman of Minsk City Executive Committee Vladimir Kukharev, BelTA informs.
Director of Minsk Water Board Fedor Rimashevsky told about the works being carried out at all four stages of construction. "As for the fourth stage (from the water intake "Felitsianovo" to the pumping station "Ostrovy"), 87% of 16.8 km of main water pipelines have been laid. The issues of power supply to the wells are also being solved. The deferrization stations are ready, people are working," he said.
The third stage provides for the construction of water supply networks from the pumping station "Shchomyslitsa" to the water treatment plant along the Minsk ring. "The readiness of the clean water tanks is 35-70%. We will complete them in spring," added Fyodor Rimashevsky.
The second stage involves the reconstruction of the water intake "Vitskovskaya" and the laying of a pipeline from it to the water intake "Ostrovy". "Out of 17 km of main water pipelines 16.1 km are ready. 36 out of 38 wells have been re-drilled.
