More people become plasma donors in Grodno

Immune plasma is one way to treat viral diseases

The Transfusion Center is prepared for taking plasma samples. The procedure is not complicated, it lasts no more than 40 minutes.

Yuri Gromak, transfusiologist of the Grodno Regional Transfusion Center:

“600 ml of plasma are taken from the donor, and all blood components: red blood cells, platelets return to the bloodstream of the donor."

14 people have already donated plasma. The biological material will go to the hospitals of Grodno Region and to other regions, if necessary.

In order to motivate people to donate plasma, action "Thanks to donors" is taking place in the country. Public associations, organizations, and private businesses prepare pleasant surprises and gifts for each of them.

Vladimir Zukhovitsky, businessman:

“We decided to support donors because we understand how important these people are for others.”

The business community and simply caring Belarusians also support the doctors. Thousands of volunteers have been of great assistance across the country.

Victoria Omelyanyuk, mother of many children:

“We are happy to help our doctors. I sewed these 40 masks myself, gave them away to hospitals. I consider it our duty to support our doctors."

Doctors feel the support. Postcards with words of gratitude were hung in Brest Regional Hospital. They are sent from different parts of the region. The most touching cards are from children. The medical staff appreciates the action.
