V. Karankevich: The readiness of the 2nd power unit of BelNPP is 85%, its launch is planned for the fall

Minister of Energy Viktor Karankevich stated that during the Youth Atomic Forum.

Now, equipment is being tested at the first unit. This is the final stage of pilot production. It will take 15 days.

The nuclear power plant has already produced about 2,3 billion kilowatt-hours, which is comparable to the annual consumption of the population in two regions. It’s planned to reach 44 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity consumption in the whole country, according to the Minister.

Minsk hosted PRO-Atom Youth Forum. It’s aimed at attracting personnel for the nuclear power industry, establishing interaction of universities with BelNPP and providing employment of graduates.
