Trial of anarchist Nikolai Dedok begins in Minsk
The anarchist is accused under three articles of the Criminal Code. Investigation against Dedok was completed in May. Operatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and investigators obtained evidence about the anarchist's involvement in committing a number of crimes, including the organization and preparation actions that grossly violate public order. The accused was noted at street riots in Minsk on August 23. Also, according to the case materials, the defendant administered radical Telegram channel for several years.
Also, the investigation has irrefutable evidence that the anarchist committed illegal actions usingfirearms, ammunition and explosives and actions aimed at causing harm to the national security of Belarus. He distributed extremist materials in the Telegram channel. Themember of the anarchist movement was detained in a rented apartment in village Sosnovy of Osipovichi District in November 2020. Glass bottles with fuel and lubricants were confiscated. At the beginning of the trial the accused declared two petitions. In the first one, he asked to removejournalist Lyudmila Gladkaya from the courtroom. In the second one, Dedok asked the court to allow his father to be his defender. Both petitions were denied.
