International Space Congress to continue its work today in Minsk

Belarus is hosting the XXXI International Space Congress these days. The forum solemnly opened the day before, the Head of State took part in the ceremony. As the President stated, the space industry in Belarus is developing steadily.

The Congress gathered the legendary cosmonauts and astronauts from 18 countries, high foreign guests, diplomats, as well as Belarusian scientists and engineers. Today there are about 90 space powers in the world, among them is Belarus. In the history of the space era, the names of our scientists and cosmonauts are inscribed. Veterans of orbital flights Pyotr Klimuk and Vladimir Kovalenok, participant of recent expeditions to the ISS Oleg Novitsky are our fellow countrymen.

Today, the congress will continue its work. Delegates will pay tribute to the memory of the victims of the Great Patriotic War, lay flowers to the Victory Monuments. They plan to visit the institutes of the Academy of Sciences, schools and universities.
