Ivan Tertel and Sergei Naryshkin meet in Vitebsk
Interaction between Russia and Belarus amid the aggressive policy of the United States and Western countries was discussed today by Ivan Tertel, Сhairman of the Belarusian KGB, and Sergei Naryshkin, Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Russia. The meeting took place in Vitebsk. The sides discussed interaction between the special services in matters of international terrorism, and enhanced the analytical component of their joint work with a large amount of information.
We assess the actions of the Western countries as aggressive actions. These are, of course, all elements of hybrid warfare, aggressive actions, because the term "unfriendly steps" is very mild. We firmly stand in the position of defending our common human values, which we cherish, and our right to sovereign development, to choose our own path of development. We will defend and pursue it.
Distorting the facts about the Great Victory is unacceptable
Responding to journalists' questions, Sergey Naryshkin also said it is inadmissible to distort the facts about the Great Victory.
It was the Red Army, in which the natives of all people's republics fought shoulder to shoulder, that liberated the countries of Eastern and a number of Central European countries. For all time, it has been recorded in the decisions of the International Military Tribunal for Nazi Criminals, the Nuremberg Tribunal: the blame for the outbreak of World War II lies entirely with Nazi Germany.
Following the working meeting, Sergey Naryshkin and Ivan Tertel paid tribute to the fallen Soviet soldiers at the memorial on Poklonnaya Hill and laid a wreath at the monument to the Heroes of the Patriotic War of 1812.
