Hezbollah: This is a declaration of war on Lebanon
The consequences of the missile strike on Beirut, carried out by Israel on September 20, are still unclear. The IDF talks about the elimination of a certain meeting of Hezbollah special forces leaders, totaling almost 20 people. Among the dead is one of the leaders of the organization, Ibrahim Akil.
Meanwhile, Lebanese authorities report the deaths of 14 people, including five children. Among the dead is indeed Akil, however, along with him, a residential building in the center of Beirut was almost completely destroyed.
This became another step in further escalating regional tensions - a kind of addition to the thousands of recent explosions on the streets of cities and villages in Lebanon.
Vasily Nebenzya, Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN:
"What happened in Lebanon and Syria the other day takes the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East to a new high-tech dimension. And this is an extremely dangerous turn. As a result of a monstrous provocation with a series of detonations of wireless communication devices in recent days, 37 people have died, including two children, and more than 4,000 people injured. Those who committed this barbaric crime spared no one - explosions thundered in hospitals, markets and streets, in shops and pharmacies."
Vasily Nebenzya emphasized that Russia considers the incident a terrorist act that poses a threat to regional peace and security with unpredictable consequences for the entire Middle East.
Those behind this crime cannot fail to realize that such attempts to drag Lebanon into a regional confrontation are heating up an already turbulent atmosphere in the region. It is obvious that the organizers of this unprecedented attack, in terms of the malicious use of household devices, deliberately sought to ignite a large-scale armed confrontation, aiming to provoke a new major Middle Eastern war," said Russia's permanent representative to the UN.
Hezbollah: This is a declaration of war on Lebanon
The Secretary-General of Hezbollah has already announced the de facto declaration of war on Lebanon. This organization has already responded to the killing of its officer in Beirut with a missile attack on targets in northern Israel. It is reported that this strike hit several IDF military targets.
