Belarusian parliament issues statement on need to end U.S. embargo against Cuba
The National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus has adopted a statement on the need to end the economic, trade and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America against the Republic of Cuba, BELTA reports.
The day before, the text of the statement was considered at the meeting of the second session of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the eighth convocation, today the House of Representatives adopted a resolution “On the Statement of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on the need to end the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America against the Republic of Cuba.”
“The National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus welcomes the continued attention of the United Nations General Assembly to the issue of ending the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America against Cuba and the adoption of a resolution of the same name at the 79th session of the Assembly,” the statement reads. - “The Parliament of the Republic of Belarus has consistently advocated the lifting of the embargo against Cuba and strongly condemns the illegal sanctions policy against the friendly Cuban people, which we regard as a gross violation of the principles and norms of international law formulated in the UN Charter.
