Belarusian MFA expresses support for Syria to stabilize situation and repel terrorist threat

The Belarusian Foreign Ministry made a statement in connection with the worsening situation in Syria, BelTA reported with reference to the agency.

"We express our support to President of the Syrian Arab Republic Bashar al-Assad, the government and the people of brotherly Syria in connection with the attacks of terrorist groups in the provinces of Aleppo and Hama. We reaffirm our firm commitment to the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Syria," the document reads.

Belarus said it supported the efforts of Damascus and its allies to stabilize the situation and repel the terrorist threat.

"We strongly condemn the terrorist attacks on consular offices and civilians. We express our hope for the speedy stabilization of the situation, the elimination of the terrorist threat and the return of brotherly Syria to peaceful life," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
