Joint statement on working visit of Belarus President to Oman made

A joint statement on the working visit of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko to the Sultanate of Oman has been made, BELTA reports.
The visit, which lasted several days, took place at the invitation of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said.
Both leaders expressed their determination to work together to achieve common goals and build relations based on mutual respect and understanding. The sides highly appreciated the strengthening of bilateral contacts and stressed the importance of deepening partnership in the economic, political and cultural fields. Clean energy, tourism, education, healthcare, technology, transport and logistics were identified as areas for expanding partnership.
Both sides welcomed bilateral efforts to intensify cooperation in industry, including joint projects to assemble equipment in Oman.
The leaders called for cooperation in agriculture and food security. The parties welcomed the successful negotiations at the Oman AgroFood 2024 exhibition and expressed support for joint projects in the fields of baby food and dairy products.
Both countries agreed that their respective bodies will explore the possibility of establishing a Belarus-Oman committee to support joint initiatives.
Belarus welcomed the introduction of a simplified visa regime for Belarusian citizens to travel to Oman for up to 14 days. The parties discussed the possibility of organizing direct flights between Belarus and Oman and an agreement on mutual visa abolition.
The President and the Sultan exchanged views on regional and international issues, reaffirming their respect for international law and the Charter of the United Nations, emphasizing the importance of cooperation within international organizations to ensure peace and security.
The delegations of both sides met to discuss their countries' development strategies and outline ways in which they can boost bilateral trade and investment and cooperate more closely on global issues such as food security.
The President of Belarus expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and invited the Sultan to visit Belarus.
