Visits to Oman and UAE. Results of President’s working week
The Arab East has captured the attention of Belarusians. The President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko first went to Oman on a working visit, and then, to the United Arab Emirates. From a geopolitical point of view, today these are some of the safest and most highly rated states for both business and for people, in principle.
The East is a place where personal guarantees, continuity and kept promises are well understood and appreciated. Hence there is such respect for the Belarusian leader. A new round of negotiations in Oman resulted in the creation of a hub for Belarusian goods and setting joint enterprises.
Alexander Lukashenko arrived in Oman on Saturday, December 14, on a working visit.
In general, there were a lot of nuances during this trip. For example, almost all negotiations were closed to the press. The official part ended and a little later the relevant ministers told what was agreed upon.
Anatoly Linevich, Minister of Agriculture and Food of Belarus:
"First of all, they are interested in our dairy products, and this is very good, because we have volumes, we produce a lot of dry milk, and today we are already making deliveries, the trade turnover this year is estimated at 5 million dollars, but this is not the figure, of course, that we will focus on."
"The first thing, of course, is that there will be an opportunity for our tourists, that is, who plan to visit Oman for up to 14 days, to come here without a visa, well, at the airport they will simply put a stamp for free, and plans to open, that is, a direct flight from Belarus to Oman, about which now only some technical issues remain, but all the approvals have already been made," said Maxim Ryzhenkov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.
Alexander Efimov, Minister of Industry of Belarus:
"We are interested, and the Omani side is also interested in the supply of our Belarusian industrial products. First of all, mechanical engineering products, passenger vehicles, freight, road construction, municipal equipment. The Omani side has also expressed interest in the supply of agricultural machinery and technologies."
