Cooperation and international agenda issues to be discussed at meeting of Foreign Ministries of Bela
Current issues of bilateral cooperation and international agenda - a joint meeting of the boards of the Foreign Ministries of Belarus and Russia will be held on November 22 in Brest.
Such meetings have been held annually since 2000 and are an effective mechanism for synchronizing the efforts of the two countries in the international arena.
Following the meeting, a number of documents are planned to be signed.
The first point where the heads of ministries will arrive will be the Brest Fortress. Here they will lay flowers at the Eternal Flame and honor the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War. Afterwards, they will meet with the youth activists of the region at the Defense Museum.
The main part of the visit program will take place in the regional executive committee. The participants of the meeting will discuss current issues of bilateral cooperation and the international agenda, as well as foreign policy coordination at multilateral venues. Particular attention is planned to be paid to the topic of diplomatic support for integration processes within the Union State, including preparations for the meeting of the Supreme State Council scheduled for early December.
Anatoly Glaz, Head of the Information and Digital Diplomacy Department - Press Secretary of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry:
"This event will be held in Brest for the first time. This is a joint decision by which our ministries, our countries want to emphasize the significance of this year, the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders and on the eve of the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet people over Nazism."
Following the meeting, the parties will adopt a corresponding resolution and approve a plan for Belarusian-Russian inter-MFA consultations for next year.
