Hundreds of experts to speak about Eurasian security in Minsk
A major expert event awaits Minsk. The Second Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security will start on October 31. This platform has already worked in our country once, having collected a pool of very good reviews. And of course, it gave the opportunity to those who are responsible for this security to "synchronize their watches".
"The purpose of the conference is a frank and inclusive discussion on the prospects of Eurasian security in the conditions of the crisis of the existing world order."
The burning Ukraine, a serious conflict in the Middle East, all this, of course, does not add confidence to the countries that are geographically nearby.
The initiative for this conference was announced back in 2022 at the CSTO summit in Yerevan. The forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization still have significant weight if the situation needs to be stabilized, as was the case in Kazakhstan in 2022.
The first conference in Minsk had participants from Canada to Myanmar, this year the geography is more than 45 countries.
600 participants from all over Eurasia, representatives of the CIS, OSCE, SCO countries, heads of a number of international organizations, experts.
What will they talk about?
How to minimize security risks, given everything that is happening in the world.
In new dictionaries, it seems that in a hundred years the words peace and Belarus will have to be put in a synonymous row, so much our country does to extinguish nearby conflicts and prevent them either on our territory or the participation of Belarusians in them.
Topic number two: how to revive diplomacy if all efforts are concentrated on military deterrence? How to negotiate. A task with an asterisk today.
Transformation of alliances and their role in the Eurasian security architecture. Simply put, what else is the UN capable of today? Can an organization that was conceived as a controller of the preservation of peace after the Second World War really do something, and not just talk. Or should other alliances come to the fore? The same BRICS, at the table are the leaders of almost half the world.
Among the announced speakers are military experts from Switzerland, deputies from Azerbaijan, analysts from Serbia, professors from Russia, UK, Norway, the Americans will be represented by the heads of the bureau of a large news service. Independent experts from France. We clearly say that the discussion will not be monopolar.
Why is it interesting and necessary to watch? Because in such dialogues people are engaged.
Official Minsk has long and seriously shown itself both as a platform for negotiations and as a place where a way out is sought in discussions about conflicts.
Our mentality and the weight of the country's leadership and our Foreign Ministry play a very large role here.
It will be interesting to hear what our neighbors and colleagues from across the ocean will say about how they see from the outside what is happening to us all. And how this can really be changed.
The conference will start this Thursday and will run from October 31 to November 1. 150 journalists, including foreign ones, will show and talk about the conference. We will see what results they come to, not only for our country.
