"We achieved excellent results" - Kochanova on cooperation between Belarus and Azerbaijan
The speaker of the upper house of the Belarusian parliament Natalia Kochanova held a number of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly in St. Petersburg.
The goal is to promote humanitarian and economic initiatives for development and creation.
Belarus and Azerbaijan oppose the destructive policies of European structures and declare that the sanctions are useless. Parliamentarians of the two countries actively interact at various international venues.
"We have really achieved excellent results. And the growth in trade and economic cooperation is noticeable - 417 million dollars. Of course, we need to cooperate more in terms of achieving even higher results, because we understand that the economy is very important," said Natalia Kochanova, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus.
"I would like to thank you first of all for these projects that are being implemented in the area of interparliamentary and youth policy (this is the Memory Train, which took place last year, the guys from Azerbaijan took part). In 2025, another important event will be held, in the year of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, which is a very significant date for our peoples. Together, we defended the freedom and independence of the Soviet Union at that time, and therefore each individual country. And therefore, of course, we will be sincerely glad if the guys from Azerbaijan again take part in such an important project."
Electoral sovereignty, ideas of a multipolar world, youth policy in terms of preserving historical memory and confronting new challenges from outside. These and other topics with the participation of Belarusian parliamentarians are discussed in the standing committees.
