Belarusians bring magical cinema to film festival in India

The 55th International Film Festival has ended in India. The Belarusian delegation took part in one of the largest international film festivals in Goa.

Top representatives of the film industry from all over the world came to India. Representatives of the country's ministries and departments visited the Belarusian film pavilion. Our delegation held dozens of negotiations in a few days. In India, they learned about the capacities of the National Film Studio "Belarusfilm".

In less than a year, we have managed to build productive relations with filmmakers from India. First of all, we are talking about the National Film Development Corporation of India. This is the main organization, it is a partner of "Belarusfilm". We have established good relations, I think these relations will help us in the future.

The Belarusians brought the animation "Song of Sirin" and the feature film "Black Castle". The premiere was a sell-out. And the audience shared their impressions of the screening.

"A magical movie. I really liked how subtly and elegantly the story of the ancient castle and the general line of the characters are intertwined in this film. We would really like the film to be dubbed into English in addition to subtitles - this way the audience will grow significantly. This story deserves international attention."

In 2025, we are expecting an impressive delegation from India at the XXXI Minsk International Film Festival "Listapad". One of the largest casting directors of Bollywood, Mukesh Chhabra, is going to come to Minsk with master classes.
